I am Ms. Genell Mills the Founder and very proud Director of SOS for over twenty five years!  I hope you had a wonderful summer break, overflowing with opportunities to learn and grow. It is my desire that you find our school a welcoming and safe place for our students where we partner to serve the success of their individual goals.  We are overjoyed that you have entrusted your children’s education to us. We will make every effort to help your child achieve academically and socially this year.

Middle School is a time of growth, change, discovery and opportunity. This is a special time in your child’s life as he or she moves towards greater independence, maturity and responsibility. It is exciting as the middle school child begins to discover more about who they are in the world.  At SOS Academy, we value each child and their unique learning and personality profile. We also pride ourselves on community and relationship building. We use these strong bonds to help students better understand their own personal development. The Vision of SOS Academy is, “Because potential is so completely unknown to us, we dare not underestimate any student.  We see ALL students as possibilities; therefore, all students are potential achievers.”

 

It is our goal to maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment that engages each student individually. To help us achieve our goal, we encourage you to involve yourself in your children’s ongoing educational development. Close cooperation between students, staff, parents, and the community is the key to encouraging students to reach their highest potential. We truly believe it takes an entire village to educate a child. Once again, parent communication is crucial to the academic success of our students!

Our doors are always open, come see the great things happening here, volunteer your time, and feel free to talk to our teachers and staff. Together we can accomplish anything.  We look forward to working with you as we make this year a terrific experience. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to educate your child.
